The Canada Revenue Agency administers federal tax laws, collects income and other taxes on behalf of the federal government and most provinces and territories, and delivers a range of benefit and credit payments to individuals and families. It also administers relief and rebate programs tied to federal statutes, and provides services to registered charities and other organizations under the Income Tax Act.

National Revenue spent $22.67B in the 2024–25 fiscal year, representing 4.2% of total federal spending.

Nearly all of this spending is administered directly by the Canada Revenue Agency. Its largest transfer payments are the distribution of fuel charge proceeds under the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act, delivered as rebates to individuals and small businesses, along with a smaller distribution to farming businesses and to provinces and territories. The agency also delivers Children's Special Allowance payments under the Children's Special Allowance Act.
